Solar PV Grants in Ireland

Commercial Grant

The amount you receive is based on the standard output of your PV system.
Maximum output of 1000KWp. If larger, they may receive maximum funding of
€162,600.
Available for systems ranging from 1KWp to 1000KWp.

1KWp (€900)
2KWp (€1,800)
3KWp (€2,100)
4KWp (€2,400)
5KWp (€2,400)
6KWp (€2,400)
7KWp – 20KWp (€300/KWp)

21KWp – 200KWp (€200/KWp)
201KWp – 1000KWp (1MWp) (€150/KWp)

How to apply:
 Find and appoint a registered SEA Non-Domestic Microgen company.
 Apply to SEAI for a grant offer. (through this link https://mgen.seai.ie/)
 Your company applies to ESB Networks
 Install the Solar PV system.
 Company submits evidence of works to SEAI.
 SEAI Processes grant offer

Requirements to qualify for this grant:

  • Be a business in Ireland
  • Be in the agricultural sector
  • Be a public sector body
  • Be a school
  • Be a Community Centre
  • Be a non profit society

Domestic Grant

All Homeowners can receive grants, including private landlords, as long as the house is built and occupied before 31 st December 2020.

Once Grant has been given approval, they have 8 months to complete works and submit declaration of works. After 8 months grant expires.

€800 per KWp up to 2KWp (e.g. €1,600.00 for 2KWp system)
€250 for every additional KWp up to 4KWp. CAPPED AT €2100

 Apply to SEAI for grant offer (https://mgen.seai.ie/
 Installer applies to ESB Networks
 Install Solar PV panels
 Arrange a post works BER
 Company submits evidence of works to SEAI
 SEAI processes the claim

Requirements to qualify for this grant:

  • Be a homeowner or
  • Private Landlord and
  • Property must be built before 2021 and
  • You can not have applied for a similar grant in the past.
  • You are also recommended to take further steps to insulate your property before installing solar panels.
